He also suggested a medial epicanthoplasty given that my eyes are set further apart, and there was no pressure toward any procedure. The surgery itself took about an hour. I could feel sutures being placed toward the end as the sedation wore off, but there was no pain, similar to a dental filling. Recovery was manageable: the first evening was the most painful, days 2–3 had the worst swelling, and bruising fully resolved over about 2 weeks.
