• Concerns before treatment Coming from the United States, I was looking for a surgeon who would listen to my goals and create results that suited my features rather than giving me a stereotypical “Korean-style” nose. As an African American woman, one of my biggest concerns was preserving my ethnic features while addressing specific areas I wanted to improve. I naturally have a wider alar base, and while I was interested in refining my nose, I did not want to lose the characteristics that make me look like myself. My main goals were to reduce the width of my nostrils slightly, improve my droopy and low nasal tip, and achieve a more balanced profile while still maintaining a natural appearance that complemented my face. Because of these concerns, finding a surgeon who understood ethnic rhinoplasty and respected my desire to maintain my Black features was extremely important to me. • How was it before getting treated? I chose to have the procedure performed under local anesthesia because I wanted to avoid the additional risks associated with general anesthesia. Personally, I handled the experience very well, but if you are someone who experiences significant anxiety, you may want to discuss other anesthesia options with the clinic. During the procedure, I was awake, and the doctor was incredibly kind and reassuring throughout the entire process. He explained what he was doing at each stage, which helped me feel informed and comfortable. The procedure itself went by much faster than I expected and never felt overwhelming. Most importantly, I am extremely happy with my results. The doctor gave me exactly what I asked for—refinement without sacrificing my ethnic features. My nose still looks like mine, just improved in the areas that had always bothered me. I have experienced minimal discomfort during recovery, the healing process has been very smooth, and I have had no noticeable scarring. So far, I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for natural-looking results and a surgeon who truly listens to their patients. • Results The aftercare was amazing from the clinic, they gave me all the meds and had me come in for thoroughly cleaning throughout my stay which was about 2 weeks. • Comments I also received a philtrum reduction which came out exactly likeI wanted with a little M shape. The staff was kind, some days i had my translator with me and some days i didn’t. They still tried there very best to accommodate me with either a translator or speaking minimal English. My doctor did speak some English so i was able to understand.
