I was concerned about my dark eye circles and tear trough…

• Concerns before treatment I was concerned about my dark eye circles and tear trough hollowing. Then as I went through the woori website, they offer undereye fat repositioning. I went to Woori plastic surgery clinic and had a consultation with Dr Choi. He suggested that I get a fat graft to the undereye area because of the tear trough hollowing. He said the surgery cannot remove the dark discoloration of my undereye but it will fill the lack of volume with fat graft. • How was it before getting treated? The consultation went smoothly. With Yunji who was translating for me, I was able to ask Dr Choi my questions and requests. I got an additional request which was I was concerned of my hypertrophic scar just below the undereye area and I wanted it removed and he said I could get a laser as well. Yunji was very helpful. She answered all my other questions and reassured me. She even helped me process my tax refund. I went to the surgery and got myself ready. They have a locker for my belongings and I got a heated bed with air mattress. The operating theater staff were very fast. I had general anesthesia and I lost my consciousness in just 2 seconds. Then I woke up like a few seconds later and the surgery was over. I was brought back to my assigned bed. The only problem I had was I didn't know where's the call bell, so I just waved at the nurses for assistance and pain relief. I stayed for around 2-3 hrs there because I was dizzy for a while. I was teary-eyed but I think tearing is part of the post op recovery. My undereye area was swollen, and I could not feel my eyelids and undereye area, so I had to use a mirror to clean my eyes and apply eye drops. I also had to put clean towels on top of my pillow because I got watery eyes with mucus most of the time in the first few days. I got no scars for the undereye repositioning with fat graft. The clinic did give me injection to improve swelling postop. • Results I know recovery takes time. The first week postop was the most difficult period. If I were to do it again, I would bring someone who would give me assistance in my daily routines postop. • Comments I love the results. I got more confidence now. I don't look tired even though I didn't sleep enough. I look well-rested all the time. I look maybe 10 years younger than before I had this procedure. My hypertrophic scar blended well with my skin and is almost gone.
