PSA: This post is going to glaze Woori a lot because I am genuinely happy with my results. This is not sponsored. I’m sharing this as a reference for anyone considering the same procedures I had, and I’ll try to be as detailed and honest as possible.

Why I Chose Cheekbone Reduction
Cheekbone reduction has always been a dream of mine. Looking back, it’s honestly hard to find a straight-on photo of myself because my cheekbones were uneven and projected too much. It made my face look older and more masculine, which I was always self-conscious about.
I initially planned to have surgery at another Plastic Surgery because the surgeon specializes only in cheekbone reduction and they’re known for not overcharging foreigners. One downside, though, is that they don’t have an in-house translator.
I asked a friend from high school (a local in Seoul) to be my translator and booked my surgery for December 8. Unfortunately, my friend had an unexpected emergency and couldn’t help anymore. They tried to find a last-minute translator but couldn’t. I took that as a sign not to proceed (I’m very superstitious 😅).

Finding Woori
I went to Unnie to look for another clinic, and that’s when I found Woori Plastic Surgery. They responded very quickly, and that’s when I met Yunjin—my GOD, she is the best.
I first spoke with her on December 8, and by December 9 she had already booked me in for a consultation.

Consultation
Yunjin welcomed me warmly, and I was introduced to Dr. Lim. I explained my concerns about my cheekbones and also asked about fat grafting, since life has aged me fast at 29 and I had noticeable hollowness in my face.
Dr. Lim explained everything thoroughly, but honestly? While he was explaining, I already knew I wanted to book the surgery. He exuded this calm, confident energy that immediately made me trust him. I’m very much a vibes person—I trust my gut, and my gut felt safe.
After the consultation, Yunjin and I discussed pricing and scheduling. They were able to give me a December 12 surgery date. I was quoted for both cheekbone reduction and fat grafting. Best believe I locked that date in immediately. I also had the option to complete my pre-op tests that day, so I did.

Surgery Day – December 12
My surgery started at 12:00 PM and ended around 2:00 PM (I was woken up at 2). I was moved to the recovery room, and I remember feeling extremely sleepy.
Pain-wise, I’d rate it about 8/10 initially. After being moved to the recovery room, I slept for another 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the pain became much more manageable. The main things I felt were intense thirst and hunger.
By 5:00 PM, I was back at my hotel. I had dinner (soup), took my first round of medication, and completely crashed.

Follow-Up Appointments
• December 15:
I had a deswelling injection. Dr. Lim checked my wounds, and the nurses cleaned and removed some of the bandages.
• December 18 (Last Appointment):
The stitches near my sideburns were removed, and I was told I could stop wearing the head support bandage.

Flying Home
December 21: I flew back to Canada. I honestly expected the worst long-haul flight of my life, but it really wasn’t bad at all.
⸻
I’m very forgetful and really wish I had taken voice notes 😭
If you have questions or feel like I missed anything, please ask me—I’m happy to help.
• How was it before getting treated?
As of now, I’m just over 3 weeks post-op and I genuinely have no complaints. Everything has been healing as expected, and my experience so far has been positive
