Selena (translator) was incredibly sweet, and his assistant was also very kind and attentive. Dr. Kim himself was gentle, caring, and made me feel very safe. • Comments My concerns were a droopy alars, bulbous tip, and weak projection. I originally thought I needed alar reduction, but Dr. Kim recommended a lift instead for my anatomy. That helped me avoided visible scarring, which I really appreciated. The plan was to use my septal cartilage with possible ear cartilage for projection, and no rib since I didn’t want a high or overly Westernized bridge. He also performed septoplasty with turbinate reduction, and my breathing has improved significantly. During surgery, my septal cartilage turned out to be weaker than expected, so the case was more complex. Dr. Kim mentioned he couldn’t achieve as much projection as originally planned, but honestly I really like the result. My nose looks natural, more refined, and fits my face much better. My side profile is more harmonious and the front looks less droopy without being overdone. Dr. Kim was very gentle and had such a calming demeanor that made me feel very comfortable. His whole staff was friendly and organized. For comparison, I had eyelid surgery at a different clinic earlier the same day, and that experience felt more abrupt and less personable. Cocoline felt much more calm and reassuring. I didn’t feel any pain during the procedure. Overall, I’m very happy with my decision. The result is subtle but makes a big difference. I wanted refinement while still preserving my Asian features—not an overly “Instagram-style” —exactly what I was hoping for and received.
