• Concerns before treatment I am south east asian, so naturally, I have a flatter, wider nose. While I love my cultural background, the width of my nose and uneven/flared nostrils have been my biggest insecurity in terms of aesthetics. I have been researching for quite some time a more conservative, natural approach therefore i opted for an alar reduction/alarplasty • How was it before getting treated? Prior to treatment, the pre-op was extremely quick and efficient. From the moment i walked in, there was no wait time and i arrived earlier than my appontment. The clinic was transparent with pre operation prep prior to arriving so everything went smoothly. I do not speak korean but there was a translator. My consultation was extremely fast, although i am not upset as I only did an alarplasty rather than a full rhinoplasty. Therefore, i may have not needed a lengthy consultation. • Results I am pleased with my results a little over a week out, my scars are still slightly raised as the tissue needs time to heal. Because this was an external incision, i am not surprised that it is more noticeable but i was instructed to continue using my prescribed cream and to keep the area hydrated • Comments I had a pleasant experience at Honesty Plastic Surgery. I came from the states seeking a natural approach to preserve my South East Asian features (flatter/low bridge/tip), therefore I opted for just an alarplasty. My main goal was to reduce my alar width, correct nostril flare and nostril asymmetry. The scans were evident that one nostril was bigger than the other. While I was hoping to reduce my alar width a bit more narrow (ideally the width between both inner corners of my eyes), Dr Dong-woo Jung explained to me that it would not be ideal, due to me not doing a full rhinoplasty. I appreciated his transparency and professionalism. I did not feel pressured to do my tip or bridge, but in the future I may reconsider coming back to him. Dr Dong-woo Jung recommended 4-5mm alar reduction and I am pleased with how natural it appears. Recovery was very swift. I am only one week post op, therefore it is not fully healed. 7 days later, my flare has been corrected but I do still notice slight asymmetry between my nostrils, although that may be due to my personal nose anatomy. I also understand only so much could be changed due to only doing an alar procedure. My experience was extremely quick and efficient. From consult to procedure to post op, it was roughly 2 hours in the clinic. I only speak English and there was a translator who helped direct and communicate my questions and concerns with the staff. Dr Dong-woo Jung spoke great English which was extremely helpful to ensure the look I wanted was achieved. Overall, I am grateful for my experience, along with the care, professionalism, and price that I paid for. Although I only did an alarplasty, if I return back to Korea in the future, I will consider doing a full rhinoplasty as my nose is my biggest insecurity. If I do decide to do the full procedure, I would love to come back to Honesty Plastic Surgery.
