• Concerns before treatment Why Woori? I wanted a lot of different kinds of procedures done at once, so I needed a bigger clinic with several doctors who specialized in different areas. The reviews and results at Woori on Reddit and Unni were overall positive and looked good to me, and the pricing was very good. During consulting, I appreciated how the doctors did not try to upsell me and also recommended against certain additional procedures. I also liked how they suggested splitting up the surgeries for my safety, whereas other clinics seem to perform all four procedures on the patient at once. Furthermore, they had three anesthesiologists which I felt was very very important. My surgeon was Dr. Hwang. He can speak a little English but Rani, one of the three main English consultants, was in the room with me to translate the more complicated responses. For the forehead lift, I stated my concern was mainly the right side of my face which was drooping down, causing my eyebrows to be uneven and my right eye to be smaller. After taking a closer look, he let me know that he would be unable to make my eyes fully symmetrical as part of the issue was orbital bone asymmetry (which I already knew and will have to live with), but lifting the right side of my face a little more than the left would help my eyes look less tired and fix the eyebrow issue at least. He also suggested doing double eyelid surgery as well, but I declined and he didn't push further. For the liposuction, I told him that I was hoping to slim my rectangular body shape. He felt around to determine where my rib/hip bones were and told me that unfortunately they were too close together, so an "S-shape" wouldn't be possible, but he would be able to at least get it curvier/slimmer which I was fine with. • How was it before getting treated? I underwent four different procedures at Woori Plastic Surgery. This review will be just for my endotine forehead lift and abdominal + love handle liposuction, which I had done first. I also received rhinoplasty and 3-point facial contouring, but that was performed a week later, so I will write reviews for those once my swelling goes down more. Operation Day Honestly the operating floor was very efficient and the nurses working there seemed very very familiar with what to do, but it was almost a little too efficient since so much was happening so fast that I was getting a little panicked. I felt kinda like a pet at the vet lol, but there was another translator in the room with me explaining everything that was going on. I'm just naturally fearful upon seeing a hospital environment so my nerves were through the roof. I was quickly put under sedation, and when I woke up I was in a bed and extremely cold. I was violently shivering and didn't know where the call button was since I didn't feel ready enough to open my eyes, so I kept repeating "cold" until someone put a heated blanket on me and the bed warmed up. Apparently feeling extremely cold is common after liposuction. After letting the sedation wear off a little, I was discharged and my parents walked me back to our hotel, but I was very dizzy still. I didn't feel anything from my head, but my abdomen definitely felt painfully sore, like I'd done an intense ab workout with no prior training. Both my head & midsection were wrapped solidly in bandages. Apparently it is common to feel nausea from the sedation, but I was completely fine and was able to eat normally, but did split my meals into smaller portions at a time to make sure I felt OK. I was also warned my lipo bandages may become soaking wet but i was completely fine lol. Recovery I was told I had to wait one week before I could shower as the stitches could not get wet, to lie down on the first day to recover, then try to sleep at an angle afterwards, and to avoid tilting my head downward. I went back into the clinic the next day to get my lipo bandages removed and was given a compression garment that hurt to put on because of how tight it was initially 😭 I had swelling and bruising all over my back and around my eyes. By the end of the week, most of the swelling/bruising around my face was gone, but I was starting to lose hair around my hairline from the lift (the hair will regrow). Woori gave me three rounds of oxygen therapy and a high frequency massage on my abdomen to help with swelling and lumps, all for no additional charge. I didn't do anything special for recovery other than applying a cold compress to my face and walking around Seoul. I wasn't really able to assess the extent of nerve damage until a days later after I got my bandages removed. My forehead, the top of my head, and eyebrows were completely numb. I could not move my eyebrows at all. Afterwards, I had to wear a tight compression band over my forehead. After a few days, I did feel pain on my head from the sensation changes caused by the nerves being damaged/regrown. It came in waves and felt like thousands of needles pricking my head.... wasn't really fun but at least I was starting to regain feeling lol Dizziness continued for about a month after and really affected my physical activity and ability to move my head around. However, I did also get FC + rhino a week afterwards, so the dizziness could also have been prolonged because of these procedures. I got my sutures removed at the 10-day mark (I think) and the only ones that hurt were the forehead ones. It was a stinging sensation but it went away quickly. • Results Result The result of the forehead lift is pretty clear (rip my hairline lol) and I am pretty happy with it! My heavy eyelids look less heavy and my eyebrows are a lot more even! Some days, my hidden double eyelid on my right side also comes out lol. I've mostly regained sensation on my forehead, but the top of my head is still numb and my eyebrows are still frozen (free botox? 😭) For my liposuction, 1800cc was removed. This was less fat than I was hoping, but it was enough to achieve a pretty good effect without worrying about sagging skin etc. I measured and I lost 1.5inches from my entire abdomen, which is the skinniest I've been in a really long time (especially the lower abdomen, since I've always had a bit of a muffin top!) I was initially a little worried since my belly button looked so horizontal and read online how in the US some clinics have patients use a marble to retain the shape, but after a month it slowly regained its original shape without needing to do that. I'm currently still a bit concerned over the unevenness between the two sides, as my left side was contoured more, likely because of the compression garment "cutting" into it more. I've since purchased another one online that gives me a smoother silhouette and am hoping it will even out more. I also still have several lumps that I've been told will eventually go away as long as I continue to rigorously massage the affected areas. I have not done any lymphatic drainage massages, but was told I could after 1 month. • Comments Additional notes - Woori did give me a card after the procedure certifying that my endotine forehead lift was performed with authentic endotine. - All the consent forms, except the CCTV one (don't know why) were in English! I know on Reddit it's seen as a red flag if a clinic does not provide a form in the language you are consulting in, so this was very relieving. - There is CCTV footage available and you can request to view it, but you must let them know beforehand - Wanted to give a huge shout-out to Rani for helping with all the scheduling, setting up recovery treatments, and fielding mine and my parents questions! Also a thank you to Savina as well, who took over the translation duties for all my post-op appointments :)
